Serenity LOVES dancing duckies! PDF Print E-mail

5/2/09 We went to see Raegan’s recital today, and then we went to Carson’s 2nd birthday! It was such a blast! Serenity only had one 45 minute nap the entire day, but she was so excited and happy at both the recital and the party that it was wonderful! She was so jazzed by the dancing. For the first five or six numbers she was standing up in my lap, clapping and waving her arms in excitement. She gave her happy shriek occasionally, but it was ok because there was lots of clapping =) It seemed like she really wanted to join in the dancing, she kept doing her little step dance all over my lap, and waving her arms like the dancers. Too cute. There were a LOT of performances though, so after a while she started snuggling with me like she was sleepy. When Raegan came on though, she got excited again! This is because Raegan’s song was “Rubber Duckie!!” All the little girls were dressed as ducks, and they danced around with rubber ducks, washing them and waving them around. Serenity got SO excited! Now I know for sure that her first word is quack, and that she knows what it means. When they started dancing, she screamed “QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!!!!” It was her favorite song =) And Raegan was absolutely the most enthusiastic duckie onstage =) She was dancing and bouncing to the music the whole time!

At one point Barrett said he wanted to visit “My Chrissie.” Serenity was being passed down the aisle to my sister, so Barrett sat in my lap. Then Serenity wanted to come back to me, so I got to hold both of them! Barrett said now I had a girl and a boy in my lap =) I told him I was VERY lucky! After Raegan’s song, Serenity was getting tired of sitting (it had been an hour and fifteen minutes, I was shocked that she was happy for so long!!!) So we wandered around the halls of my high school. She met lots of little girls, and they all thought she was adorable. She smiled and made lots of friends!!! After the recital we headed to Mike and Kelly’s for Carson’s party. The kids all had a lot of fun playing together! Serenity really loves Little Casey a lot, and he held her for a while. Barrett really wanted to pull her in the wagon, and I think she would have been content with that for a long time! =) Raegan is really cute with her too, she’s always smiling at her, and touching her cheek, saying she’s so cute. Carson and Raegan have every toy you could possibly imagine, so Serenity found lots to do. She especially liked this gear toy that spins. She also found several choking hazards that we had to fish out of her mouth. I think that is the one stage I will not miss. Carson got a lot of presents, including an umbrella covered picnic table that was a big hit, and a basketball goal. Only one basketball though so he and Raegan had to have words over it =) I imagine they’ll get another one. Carson cried whenever anybody left. It was so sweet =) Past bedtime, but it was an awesome party.
